11. Tom Clancy’s: The Division

In a time of crisis, the Strategic Homeland Division, or “The Division” for short can be called upon to contain threats to the citizens of the United States. When a pandemic on Black Friday causes the government to collapse, the world begins to fall apart. The Division steps in to bring order before it’s too late.

In The Division, you play as a member of the SHD, sent in response to the crisis that has collapsed the government. In third-person perspective you will explore the open world and work with a team to restore order to city and find the source of the viral pandemic.

Similar to other third-person games you will be able to hold three weapons and explosives to fight the enemy. You will be able to take cover behind objects during fights for shielding and use those objects to your advantage as well.

The game is also an RPG and as you level you will gain experience points that you can use to customize your character, level up weapons, upgrade your backpack, and learn skills and talents to help you become stronger. Certain active talents can be earned through the completion of missions.

Overall, the game looks like it will be a lot of fun. I personally have never played a Tom Clancy game, but this one has made me curious. The game is set to release on March 8, 2016.

10. Battleborn

The universe’s last star is under the threat of extinction! A band of heroes must join together and fight to protect it from the evil that seeks to destroy it.

Take on the role of a hero and battle evil to save the universe’s last star. Battleborn is a first-person shooter that has MOBA elements. You start with the same level and as you gain levels you unlock skills.

Each hero will have different abilities and weapons to choose from. Just like other MOBAs out there, it’s likely there will be classes such as melee support, ranged assassin, and warrior.

Battleborn will also have different modes. There will be a campaign mode that can be played solo or co-operatively with other players.

There will also be three other modes called Meltdown, Incursion, and Devastation. Each mode will have its own set of tasks and rules.

9. No Man’s Sky

In all of the infinite universe, you are but one person. Will you make a name for yourself?

No Man’s Sky is an upcoming sci-fi space exploration game in which you are in control. You take on the role of a planetary explorer and make your way into the open galaxy. Beyond this, the choice is yours. You can be a merchant, pirate, etc.

Though there is no story to be told, there are actions that create your story. Destroying a planet’s life forms can cause you to become wanted by robots that patrol planets. Every action has a consequence.

When you find a new planet and mark it on your map it becomes visible on the entire galaxy map, making it to where others can travel to it. You can also leave messages behind on planets for those who come to visit.

This game looks like it will be incredible. This is definitely on my to-play list in June 2016.

8. DOOM

Hell’s demons are invading. There’s no stopping for a breather. It’s kill or be killed.

DOOM (Renamed from DOOM 4) has been in the works for quite some time. While there will be a campaign mode, the big focus here is the multiplayer.

It is expected that there will be several multiplayer modes like four player deathmatch, freeze tag, clan arena, and domination. We can expect to see redesigned monsters from the original game such as Mancubus, the Revenant, and Cyberdemon.

Classic weapons like the super shotgun and chainsaw will make an appearance. You can also bet that there will be gore. Lots and lots of gore!

Look for DOOM in 2016.

7. Fable Legends

Several hundred years ago magic in Albion was unstable. Life was chaotic and dangerous and people rarely ventured out of the wall which they lived behind. But there were those few who dared to risk it all. They call them the heroes.

Fable Legends takes us back before the original game took place. It is a more primitive time for the people of Albion. Even then, there were those who would adventure beyond the walls.

While Fable Legends can be played single player with an AI party of three, the multiplayer is what is going to really make this game shine. With a party you fight your way through the stories and adventures, making a name for yourself as a hero of Albion.

Even more interesting is the ability to play as a villain against the other team. Because we all know that in the real world there aren’t just monsters, but villains as well.

Similar to MOBA style games, there will be weekly rotations of the heroes you can play. You will also be able to purchase heroes as well. I particularly like that the game will also allow you to customize your character.

Currently there are 14 known playable characters for you to play and 5 different types of villains. Villains are more like races of creatures and not just one playable character.

As a fan of the Fable games, I am looking forward to this title. The BETA will be out in 2016.

6. For Honor

Knights, Vikings, and Samurai, oh my! Delve into a gruesome and bloody battle wielding a sword and shield. Slay your enemies where they stand.

For Honor is an intense new multiplayer coming out in 2016 that allows you to take on the role of a historical figures such Knights, Samurais, or Vikings and control them in a third-person perspective.

The game will have a single player campaign mode, but we do not know yet what the multiplayer mode will completely entail. However, the gameplay looks very intense. It looks to be very much like a shooter game but with strictly melee weapons.

This is another multiplayer game I am looking forward to in 2016. The graphics look incredible and the idea of fighting as a Knight, Samurai, or Viking really appeals to me.

5. Crowfall

Crowfall is an upcoming MMORPG and RTS hybrid game. It’s also being called a “Throne War Simulator.” It plays mostly like an MMO, third person view of a character that’s allowed to adventure anywhere.

It’s within the world system where it differs. Instead of just one world, there are many and each one has its own rules and campaigns. Some maps may have you fight for the gods, while others may have you fight for your guild.

Recruit armies, storm the games, destroy your enemies forces and fight for your survival!

The game is already in testing stages though if you want to play you will have to purchase the game.

4. Overwatch

Overwatch heroes become shunned for crimes they did not commit and this leads to the team being disbanded. There are still enemies in the world and conflicts that need resolving. The world still needs heroes.

Despite receiving a bad name from the world, the heroes of Overwatch stood in the shadows quietly and observed. When they are needed they come, showing the world that it still needs the heroes they cast away.

It is a first person shooter that takes place in a futuristic Earth that pits two opposing teams of six against each other. Depending on the map the objectives are different.

Currently in BETA testing there are two game modes.

The first is Payload where your team must move a payload to a given point while the other team tries to stop you. If you get your payload to the point, you win. If not, you lose.

The second campaign is point capture mode. The goal of the offensive team is to capture objectives while the defensive team tries to stop you. Whoever has the most objectives wins.

I’ve watched a few streams on this game and it seems like a lot of fun. Its expected release is June 21, 2016.

3. Dark Souls 3

The world is dark and there is little hope to be seen of the future. One hero must fight his way through the darkness and save the world before all is lost.

There is still a lot of secrecy hidden behind the new plot of Dark Souls 3. Theories are rampant but nothing solid is known.

As far as we can tell, the game will be just as dark and just as brutal. I’ve personally never played Dark Souls, but I’ve watched other people play it and I can say that it looks like a difficult game. So if there’s anything to expect it will be just that: the new game will be harder.

A very big part of the game is the new battle system called battle arts. New powerful moves and upgrades for the weapons you have. Each weapon will have different moves and upgrades. Some will have more while others will have less.

There’s not much talk about on what the multiplayer will look either, but it will probably border along the same lines as the second game.

Dark Souls 3 will be out in the US on April 12, 2016.

2. Camelot Unchained

When the Veilstorms ravaged the land and destroyed everything in its path, it forced heroes to be born. In order to survive, the hero must find a way to rebuild the remains of what is left all while destroying enemies and making a name for himself.

The multiplayer on Camelot Unchained is going to be very PVP focused. You will choose to be one of three realms: the Arthurians, the Tuatha De Danann, or the fierce Vikings. Each faction will have their own lore.

Everything you do becomes part of the realm. Instead of grinding mindlessly, you gain power through the use of your abilities. Use coordinated attacks to win resources and land from your enemies’ realm and carve your own name in legend.

1. Skyforge

After a great god named Aeli vanishes from the world, the armies of hostile gods have made it their mission bring chaos to the world. Other immortals must come together to protect the followers and their world.

If you’ve ever wanted to play as a god, then this game might just be the one for you. Fantasy and science fiction are blended in this game. You will find old-fashioned weapons such as swords, shields, and bows used right along with guns, holograms, and mechanical arms.

There will also be ancient mysteries and powerful immortals. You will play as an immortal, though not quite a god.

It is an action combat MMO where you are really only limited by the imagination. Upon playing you are not immediately restricted to picking a class. Instead you can play and switch between classes you have unlocked so long as you are not in combat.

The game is currently in BETA and will be free to play when it releases in 2016.
