After working in political journalism and commentary, Tim has escaped into writing about video games, his real passion ever since he received an N64 and a copy of Goldeneye for his sixth birthday in 1997. An obsession with Perfect Dark came soon after, to be followed by Metal Gear Solid, Star Wars: Battlefront, the Battlefield franchise, and Call of Duty. For the sake of variety, he also conquered the world several times on every Total War title released, and ruled for a while as a despotic king in Stellaris, before returning to liberate the Earth as an XCOM commander, slightly out of breath. Obscure titles in favorite genres are particular points of interest.
