Not so long ago in a galaxy pretty close by...

Looking back to the year 2014, there were quite a number of events.  The terrorist group ISIS rose to power in Iraq and Syria.  In Africa and the United States, the fear of Ebola Virus was on every news station across the country.  And a number of awesome PC games were released to gamers everywhere.  Now the last one might not be as memorable.  In fact, there are probably a number of them gamers forgot about, or just plainly missed out on.  Here are thirteen top PC games that you may have missed out on.

1. LISA

All females have been wiped from the planet, all for one.  Brad finds her as a baby and secretly raises her.  One day she is kidnapped, forcing Brad to go on an epic adventure to rescue her.

This quirky side-scrolling RPG is set in the classic apocalyptic wasteland.  It has the crude humor to make players fall down laughing with the exciting battle style similar to Earthbound.  Team up with over thirty different characters to create an undefeatable party.  The game also focuses on choices, impacting the world in the most ruthless way.  Sacrifices must be made, even to Brad.  A loss of a limb may be the only way to progress through the game.  Under that cute art-style is a darker, nefarious gameplay.

There is an additional downloadable content called LISA the Joyful.  Content includes new moves, masks and an amazing soundtrack.

Journey to the world of Auriga and dominate the world through either diplomacy or by war.  Join one of the elven races or factions and explore the as the vast land.

Develop new technologies, explore new lands and build an empire in this RPG strategy game.  Take control one of the many fantasy factions, as you conquer and research.  In the land of Auriga, the landmasses are randomized per game, populated by various terrain that have different effects on the units under your command.  The world map is formed in separate regions, and hosts cities that help the expansion into others.

Since the games conception there have been multiple downloadable content for the players to expand on their own universe.  Each of the content updates include new systems, enemies, and equipment.  Currently there are Endless Legend Shadows, Endless Legend Guardians, and Endless Legend Forges of Creation.

A group of exiled travelers have decided to restart their lives in a new land.  All that they have are the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland.

Keep the population alive, and grow it into a successful culture in this city-building strategy game.  The people of Banished are your major resource.  Like us humans, they are born, grow older, work, have children, and eventually die.  To make the town grow you must keep them healthy.  Structures can be built at any time with the provided resource.  Trading and bartering are also essential parts to the growths of the town and your people.  To ensure growth of the townspeople different occupations are available from farming to teacher.  Strategies are endless to make your town flourish.

4. Divinity: Original Sin

Take on the role of a Source Hunter, a group that seeks out and destroys the foulest magic.  After the murder of a town councilor, the hunters are called to seek out his murder.  Suddenly, you find yourself in the midst of a plot that could rattle the fabric of time itself.

In this back-to-roots RPG adventure, create your own protagonist from your own imagination.  Fight foes in a turn-based combat and explore the open world.  Join up with a friend in co-op and make your own adventures with the toolkit.  Fight an assortment of fantastic creatures, manipulate the environment with magic and skills.  Delve deep into the epic story of Divinity, as your choices influence the game.  The toolset by the game designers allow for new stories and endless gameplay to share with others.

In Enhanced Edition comes a complete revamp of the already fantastic game.  New game modes, voiceovers, and hours of new and revised story content are just a few of the new version of the game.

5. This War of Mine

Inspired by the treacherous living conditions and wartime atrocities that befell the Bosnian civilian during the Siege of Sarajevo.  For four years the town went under siege, the longest in modern warfare.

Turn the war-theme gameplay on its head when you take on the role of a civilian group trying to survive a home under siege.  Scarce food and lack of medicine make the danger all the more real as the game takes a look at the horrors of war.  Inspired by real-life events, control your survivors, craft items for the shelter in order to survive.  There are tough choices that need to be made, some emotionally difficult, but it is up to you to make them.  The day and night cycles provide a strategy in order to stay alive in this hellish land.  With the world and characters being randomized upon each new game, it is never easy to be stuck in the middle of a battlefield.

Two additional downloadable contents are available with expand the gameplay.  For every purchase of This War of Mine – The Little Ones, a dollar is donated to War Child, a charity that helps children in conflict-affected areas.

Expand the universe with the Dragon’s Throne Scenario in the Digital Deluxe Edition.  In this story, eight rival lords have found a mysterious dragon’s egg and low make claim to the Dragon Throne.  War risks unleashing the power of the dragons.

In an alternate timeline, a nuclear holocaust takes place in 1998 after a cluster of meteors struck the earth, which sparked a nuclear world war.  On the day the world ended, a company of Army Engineers were constructing bridges for a federal death row.  They sought shelter in the prison, managing to stave off the apocalypse.

The hellish landscape of the Wasteland is waiting for you.  It is either rise up or die in the dirt.  With an assortment of different game styles, players can be who they want to be in this adventure game.  Every action has consequences.  Some happen right away while others have a ripple effect that affect you and others in the wasteland.  With a huge amount of customization, over a hundred fifty weapons, and hundreds of characters there are literally thousands of possible combination making no two players having the same experience.

With the new Director’s Cut comes new features like the graphics overhaul which rebuilt the entire game with the Unity 5 engine.  Even more customization available in Perks & Quirks that bring your character to life with different personalities.  Expanded voice over has redone over 8,000 lines of dialogue to bring even more life to the desolate Wasteland.

In the new Director’s Cut, Dragonfall has become a completely standalone title due to popular demand.  With this comes five brand new missions that focus on the personal stories of your team members.  There is also a revamped combat system that is a major overhaul to the previous.  New armor systems provide another tactical layer to the experience.  The interface has also had a makeover with spells, items and abilities that are much easier to access.

Fully optimized for wide screen gameplay, the graphics have been completely revamped to the highest quality.  The PC version includes everything including subtitle support in several languages and the released bonus content such as the Separate Ways epilogue.

Enjoy the free-to-play collectible card gamed created by Blizzard Entertainment that builds upon the Warcraft series.  The turn-based card game is a battle between two opponents, using decks of thirty cards along with “heroes” with their own unique powers.  Players use mana to cast spells and summon minions with the intent of bringing the opponent’s health down to zero.  Winning matches earn gold which can be used to buy new cards and other prizes.  Players can also use micro transactions to buy more packs of cards to build the ultimate deck.  Several modes of game play include casual and ranked matches as well as daily quests and weekly challenges to earn additional gold and prizes.  Continuous updates allow for expansion packs and new strategies.

The game has been released for Microsoft Windows and OS X personal computers, but also supports the iOS and Android devices, featuring cross-platform play, allowing players to use any device at their disposal to compete with each other.  The only restriction is geographical limits.

Gameplay: 

Time never seems to be on our side.  It flies fast, years going by before we know it.  It is not our fault that we cannot enjoy all the great games, there is just not enough time.  The years go by in a flash, and before we know it, we miss out on some great games that we wanted to play, or just forgot about.  Luckily with age, games usually become more affordable to purchase a bundle of them so you can catch up.
