In our first western feature, we are taken to a Steam game born of mods. This game is an FPS with some humor built in.

You can fight with anything from a revolver to a bow to your own fists and feet. And you can play in many different modes. Some are as classic as shootout which is the classic death match style FPS play and some are as unique as ‘Break Bad’ which has you all unarmed and jailed for many different reasons throughout play.

The best part about this game is that it is completely free to play. No add-ons. No pricey DLC’s. Nada. So if you want some Wild West fun for free check this bad boy out!

In a completely different style of game, Hard West is a game of choices. You play as Warren, who “should be dead,” as he sets out on a quest of vengeance. He has made a deal with some pretty nasty ancient supernatural forces and has a total of 40 unique missions ahead of him across 8 scenarios.

Like other story-based games, there are multiple endings that are available based on your different actions throughout the game. This game has lots of replayability and darkness. And is well-worth the play.

It is entirely up to you whether you kill everyone you meet or kill no one. All in glorious pixelated grit. And your actions directly impact the outcome of the game. So think carefully which path you choose and then just have fun with it since the game is not for taking seriously, but instead just for the laughs.

This one is an oldie but a goodie. Follow the McCall brothers on their path to claim a pile of Aztec gold from outside of Juarez.

Set at the end of the Civil War, the McCall brothers set out to reclaim their plantation in Atlanta after it was burned with the rest of the city. But they quickly get drawn into the bloody life of desperados.

When you begin the game you will decide which brother to play as. This decision is mainly about gameplay preference: close or distance fighting. Each brother also has their own unique weapon systems and leveling specializations.

Whichever brother you choose, your path will not be easy.

4. Wild Frontera

WIld Frontera Trailer

This is a game of silliness. It is a top down shooter where you can either play by yourself or with 3 of your closest friends to save the west. You may start with the weakest of weapons, but before long you have command of some impressive weapons to fight everything from wild animals to black magic wielding Repulsive Brotherhood Members.

There are 8 stages with 17 bosses to be fought and the built-in jokes and spaghetti style will keep you laughing while you play. But don’t mistake silliness for easiness. The game is difficult and non-stop trigger finger fun.
