These Movies All Share Something in Common With Titanfall:

Sacrifice and heroism are common in war movies like this one

Titanfall has quickly become one of the most popular FPS games on the market. The in-game combat deviates from the standard with highly mobile pilots and massively destructive titans. Avid fans are already looking for more content though, so here are 10 Tiatnfall movies, or rather, movies you might enjoy if you love Titanfall. These movies were picked based on certain themes or elements that are very prevalent in the game.

10. District 13

Freerunning is an essential part of Titanfall's gameplay... Although in the game you keep your shirts on

District 13 was a huge hit when it was released despite being an international film. This French movie follows an undercover cop and a gang member as they work together to stop a bomb from going off in Banlieue 13.

The reason this action movie became so popular was due to the incorporation of free running and parkour. Leito, the gang fighter that works with the government, is a runner that will blow your mind with his amazing skills. Many Titanfall players started getting into parkour after realizing how awesome the wall running and jumping was. Check out this chase scene from the film, it ought to get you pumped up!

9. Ironman

Many of us become just as proud as Tony Stark when we get in our Titans

Tony Stark was certainly a talented man before donning the Iron suit, but it was the suit, his titan, that made him a superhero. It is the same with us when we play Titanfall. While we might be talented fighters without our giant mech-suits, it is when the Titan is deployed that we are really able to deliver the hurt. Ironman is definitely a Titanfall movie.

8. Fury

This allstar cast delivered an explosive and emotional bombshell of a movie

This dark and gritty war movie that came out last year was a great success. The Brad Pitt film portrayed the life of a US tank crew in the final days of World War 2. The crew becomes stuck in a situation in which they have to choose whether or not to fulfill their mission, even though it could mean suicide.

A greater degree of realism was aimed for in the filming of this movie, so don’t go expecting any unreal slow motion action sequences. The realistic depictions of combat and heroic deeds on the battlefields are both inspiring and stomach churning.

7. Full Metal Jacket

Uncle Sam wants you! Actually he's just mad at you

This movie is a classic among military flicks, and a must see for those who love the FPS genre. It is a dark and psychologically disturbing depiction of military brutality. The story follows a squad of soldiers from their entrance into basic training to their service on the battlefield. The movie is vulgar, violent, and absolutely brutal, but hey, so is Titanfall.

6. Gamer

Imagine being controlled by another person... That would be awful!

All FPS players should watch this movie. It is a fantastic depiction of what could happen if our society developed the technology capable of controlling other people. In this movie the characters in the FPS game aren’t just pixels on a screen, they are real convicts being controlled remotely by a player. If the convict lasts through the entire game, they can walk free.

5. Star Wars

Star Wars Episode VII! What is your opinion on the lightsaber?

Science fiction? Check. Outer space? Check. Massive robots? Check. Awesome acrobatic stunts and free flowing combat? Check.

Star Wars has all of the elements that exist in Titanfall. One should not be allowed to call oneself a fan of sci-fi if they have not seen the entire Star Wars series. The movies that follow the Skywalker family as they discover the force and become Jedi Master’s revolutionized the entire genre. Without this series, it is very unlikely that we would have many of the awesome games and movies we have today.

4. Black Hawk Down

Try not to cry... Cry anyway

This is the heart-wrenching movie based on the true story of the Delta Force squad that participated in a 1993 raid in Mogadishu. The film does not shy away from the horror that is war in any way, and we get up close and personal with the action in a very uncomfortable way. Don’t go expecting a happy ending to this war movie. Tales of heroism and sacrifice don’t always end well. Black Hawk Down is one of the best war movies on the market. Just make sure you have a box of tissues close by when you watch it.

3. Pacific Rim

Your hard earned tax dollars at work building monster killing machines

You should have known that this movie would be on the list. Aliens have attacked the Earth, but they didn’t come from space, they came from the oceans. These massive monsters surface and wiped cities off the map one by one until humanity finally came up with a response, the Jaegers.

Humanity built massive robotic titans that are controlled by skilled pilots. They go out to sea and duke it out with the monsters in some of the most epic combat to ever make it on the big screen.

2. Star Trek

This movie is the king of collateraldamage

You could certainly watch the entire original series if you wanted, but this is specifically referring to the rebooted movies that have come out in the last couple of years. Even Star Wars has a hard time competing with Star Trek when it comes to amazing and awe-inspiring sci-fi effects and combat.

Something else you might not have thought about is the fact that Titanfall takes place on the frontier fringe of space. Star Trek is all about exploring the Final Frontier, so there you go.

1. Saving Private Ryan

Life is like a box of chocolates right?

There is no more famous war movie in the world than Saving Private Ryan.  The incredibly brutal and realistic depiction of war is especially evident during the opening half hour of the film when countless of lives are lost in Normandy.

The squad of Army Ranger Captain John H. Miller searches for the lost paratrooper, Private Ryan. They are determined to bring him home safe no matter what the cost may be! The mission is fraught with tragedy and heroic sacrifice. Among Titanfall movies, this one definitely takes the number one spot.
