Out of Time starts with Max observing one of her fellow students, Kate, being subjected to bullying for a viral video. Kate is seen to be kissing several students under the influence of drugs.

During class, the students are called out the yard, where Kate is preparing to jump down from the girls’ dorm building. Max uses her power and stops the situation before it gets out of hand.
