[Top 5 Methods] How To Unlock Valorant Agents Fast

Everyone’s had that moment when they have to decide which agent to unlock and spend hours upon hours grinding in order to just test out. The worst part is that after trying out your new agent, there’s no way to guarantee you will even like them. An easy solution to this problem is simply by unlocking every agent in the game or at least having a method to quickly unlock any agent you want to try out.

Today, at Gamer’s Decide, we will go over the ins and outs of unlocking agents in VALORANT, as well as seeing how to do it fast, and how to quickly unlock the skins and cosmetics that come with agent contracts. If instructions are not fully clear, there will be links on how to do these methods for each one.

1. Doing Daily and Weekly Missions

To get started with unlocking agents, it’s important to know that you unlock an agent after gaining 200000 EXP while that agent’s contract is active. If you do all your missions, you can amass a huge amount of EXP. The easiest way to do your missions is by sticking to a game mode that suits your objective best.

How it works:

  • If you have a mission that requires you to use 25 Ultimate abilities, play Spike Rush, where you can grab Ultimate orbs and get that ability instantly.
  • If you have to buy 200 abilities, then play Unrated with agents like Jett or Brimstone, who have several abilities to buy.

2. Cheesy Spike Rush Method

This method requires you to queue with 5 friends in a premade lobby and it’s possibly the fastest method to gain EXP in the game. What you have to do is play Spike Rushes over and over and select agents that deal friendly-fire damage such as Brimstone or Sova. As soon as each round starts, everyone must clump together and throw all your damage-inflicting abilities so you all die. Doing this is extremely effective but it’s monotonous and boring.

How it works:

  • You make Spike Rush matches as short as possible
  • By doing this, you will gain a fixed 1000 EXP per match in about 3-4 minutes

3. Accumulating Weekly Missions

Weekly missions in VALORANT don’t go away until the season resets. This means that if you don’t play the game for the first 4 weeks of a season, when you come back you will have 4 weeks worth of missions to complete. By doing this, you can play games casually, not worrying about missions, and get a little bit of EXP from that. After a few weeks, dedicate all your time to completing your missions and you should quickly unlock an agent or two.

How it works:

  • Make sure you always start a new contract as soon as you reach level 5 for the previous contract you had selected.
  • Don’t complete your weekly missions for a few weeks and when you come back, they will all be stacked and ready for you to complete.
  • Completing all your quests at once will give you a huge burst of EXP that should unlock an agent or two.

4. Just do your best in Unrated or Competitive

Not surprisingly, one of the best ways to unlock characters is to simply play the game, preferably, to the best of your ability. In Unrated and Competitive, every round you play gives you EXP, and you get a bonus for every round won. This means that if you play well, preferably with a group of friends, you should get a lot of EXP per day and quickly unlock agents. Of course, this may not be the absolute most efficient way of getting EXP, but it surely is the least boring way of doing so.

How it works:

  • Every round played gives you 100 EXP and every round won gives you a bonus of 200.
  • This means that with a strong team, you can easily average around 4500 EXP per match. Not the most efficient method but you enjoy the game.

5. Buying Agents

This is the absolute fastest way to unlock an agent in VALORANT. Of course, it’s not for everyone, as most people prefer putting money into skins, rather than into unlocking agents (which are technically free). However, if you have the extra money and you don’t enjoy grinding for the agents, then maybe you should consider buying the agents.

How it works:

  • You spend 200 VALORANT points per tier missing on your contract.
  • To maximize efficiency per dollar, you should unlock a few tiers of your agent contract by doing missions, as each tier has a fixed price.
  • Each agent costs 1000 VALORANT points from tier 0, which is about 10 USD (depending on your region).
