After upgrading your weapon in the Pack-A-Punch machine you will see the second tab alongside the weapon upgrade menu and that would be the ammo mod menu. Essentially elemental upgrades to your weapon and there are five choices. Napalm Burst, Dead Wire, CryoFreeze, Brain Rot, and Shatter Blast, and all have their own pros and cons depending on the situation and some are just good overall. Today, We will be showing you our picks for the best ammo mods to use in the game ranked from worst to best.

5. Brain Rot

Kicking off our list in last place we have Brain Rot. The ammo mod has the premise to be a good addition to your weapon at first glance, It gives players the ability to turn one of the enemies into an ally to fight alongside you for a short period of time before they decay and die off. Though, Your undead allies are about as useless and easy to die off as the zombies you are killing yourself in the first place. At times, The A.I will mess up and your “Ally” ends up chasing you and getting you cornered for his original allies to kill you. Really no advantage is gained from using this ammo mod, Only use would be to try out something new if you have gotten bored of the other ones and want to challenge yourself by applying the worst one on the list to the weapon.

Ammo mod Details:

  • Turned enemy explodes on death, Dealing toxic damage
  • Increase turned duration to 20 seconds
  • Turned enemy damage is doubled
  • Special enemies can be turned
  • On turned enemy death, The turned enemy explosion turns 3 nearby enemies

4. CryoFreeze

Next on the list in fourth place, we have the CryoFreeze ammo mod, The sole purpose of this ammo mod is to slow down heavy and normal enemies, Dealing some frost damage though not enough to write home about. You can use this to your advantage if you find yourself in a tough spot in the game and need to slow down the zombies so you can buy yourself some time to escape. Besides that, there really is not much of an offensive advantage gained from this weapon but its ability to slow down a couple of enemies and deal at least some damage is what earns it the 4th place title on this list.

Ammo mod details:

  • Slowed enemies take 25% more damage
  • Slowed enemies duration increased to 5 seconds
  • Slowed enemy speed decreased by 50%
  • Special enemies can be slowed
  • On a slowed enemy kill, The enemy shatters, spreading the slow effect to 5 nearby enemies

3. Shatter Blast

Coming up in the middle of our list we have the ShatterBlast Ammo Mod, This ammo type deals explosive damage and each bullet has a chance to explode dealing damage to nearby enemies and destroying armor off of armored zombies. With PHD Slider you will be safe from the explosive damage which makes this a viable choice to be on the offensive and disposing of enemies quickly, Climbing up through the rounds without any problem. It also comes in handy when coming into contact with special enemies as the explosives deal extra damage.

Ammo mod details:

  • The explosion also deals damage to nearby enemies
  • All normal enemy armor damaged by the explosion is destroyed
  • Normal enemies damaged by the explosion are knocked down
  • Explosion size is doubled when upgraded
  • On explosion, 3 additional staggered explosions occur in close proximity to the original impact

2. Napalm Burst

Coming in second on this list we have the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod, This ammo type deals fire damage and each bullet has a chance to apply burn damage on normal enemies dealing up to 20% of their health in about 5 seconds. This is a really good ammo type to apply to automatic weapons or shotguns in the game and those who like to be on the frontlines and put down the zombies quickly and being able to survive fairly easily in the higher rounds as they reach for round 55 or higher. Also is able to deal burn damage to special enemies which is a plus.

Ammo mod details:

  • Initial burn effect deals 10% of enemy maximum health in fire damage
  • Increase burn duration to 10 seconds
  • Double burn effect damage
  • Special enemies can be burned
  • On a burned enemy kill, The enemy explodes and spreads the burn effect to 5 nearby enemies.

1.DeadWire

Coming in first place on the day's list we have the Dead Wire Ammo mod. These bullets deal electric damage and each bullet stuns enemies for up to 4 seconds. This is really good for dispatching hordes and locking them down. Giving you some breathing room to either escape and catch a quick breath or buy yourself enough time to quickly kill the horde as the electricity arced over from one bunch to the next. Deals additional damage to boss zombies like the megaton and mimic. Almost a jack of all trades if it were able to turn enemies into allies like brain rot. Other than that it possesses abilities similar to or greater than the other 4 ammo mods on this list and would recommend to anyone looking to up their game in terms of weapon damage in a zombies match.

Ammo mod details:

  • Stunned enemies generate an electric field dealing electric damage to self and nearby enemies
  • Increased stun duration to 4 seconds
  • Double the electric field damage
  • Special enemies can be stunned
  • On stun, arcs of electricity jump and spread the stun to 3 nearby enemies
