[Top 10] Best Cell Attacks (Ranked)

Wassup everybody! Your friendly neighborhood ShounenMan here with another anime list to answer those questions burning the ki within you. Today we’re focusing on my favorite anime of all time, DBZ! There are some pretty evil villains in DBZ, and this guy is no exception to the rule. Cell is one of the most powerful and dangerous villains in the history of the anime. Not only was he powerful and willing to do anything to achieve his perfect form, but he also was very cunning. Being made up of the cells of our heroes and even some villains, Cell has a vast array of different techniques. Let’s go together and look at the top 10 best Cell attacks (ranked)!

10. Back Slap

Coming in at number 10, we have Back Slap! This made it on the list due to the hilarious nature of the attack. Near the end of the Cell Saga, our villain held the Cell games. This was a tournament meant to give him the most fun fighting experience before he destroyed earth. The first person he took on was none other than the people’s champ himself, Hercule. This goofy fool is an average human with no chance of beating the monster, but he truly believed he could. He starts the fight with a dynamite kick and then goes into a seemingly vicious combo. However, his attacks have absolutely no effect on Cell, and after the villain gets annoyed by the man’s efforts, he slaps him with a backhand that sends him flying into a mountain.

9. Psycho Crash

Coming in at number 9, we have Psycho Crash! Once Cell decided that he wanted to have a tournament, he announced it to the world. After this, he headed out to find a perfect spot. Once found, he sent a red-ringed energy wave through the ground causing massive explosions around the area. He then needed to make his ring. To do this, he picked up a mountain using telekinesis and traced his fingers in the air cutting the rock into a perfect cube. He then used this same technique to cut the arena into a grid. This attack seemed intense, and it’s a shame he never used it in battle.

8.All Clear

Coming in at number 8, we have All Clear! After he created the Cell games arena, the bug-like android had nothing to do but wait, so that’s what he did. During this waiting period, the world’s military decided that they would be the ones to kill this monster and cleanse his evil from the land. Cell sensed them approaching and moved away from his ring to prevent its destruction. He waited for the army on top of a mountain; when the monster came into the military’s view, they took aim with their tanks, bazookas, and rifles. At the commander’s word, they unleashed a barrage of blasts that blew apart the mountain, but Cell was unaffected. As he looks at the fear playing across the human’s faces, he smirked. Pulling his hand back and charged up energy until his hand was pulsing with his attack. Swiping his arm through the air, he caused the entire military to explode.

7. Cell Jr’s

Coming in at number 7, we have Cell Jr’s! After Goku forfeited, their fight Cell became livid. He even threatened to blow up the entire planet, but Goku had different plans. He told Cell that his son Gohan would defeat him, and after they fought for a bit, Gohan realized why his dad wanted him to fight. He explains to the monster that he has a rage inside of him that will cause him to kill Cell. Hearing this did nothing but excite the ultimate android, and he decided to torture Gohan to bring it out. After attacking Gohan relentlessly to try and get his rage to show itself, Cell came up with another plan. He decided he would cause pain to Gohan’s family and friends. He counts the Z-warriors and creates seven smaller versions of himself. These versions come to life laughing maliciously before beginning to dismantle our heroes.

6 Time to die

Coming in at number 6, we have Time to die! During Gohan’s fight with Cell, after he decided to blow himself up, he came back with a vengeance, and before anyone could act, he fired a beam straight through Trunk’s chest, killing him. To everyone’s shock, he was much more powerful after his near-death experience due to his Saiyan cells.  This enraged his father Vegeta, who unleashed a volley of energy attacks meant to finally put Cell away but to no avail. The monster android flew out of the smoke smacking Vegeta to the ground in one hit. He then charged up a beam and shot it at the fallen prince of Saiyans, intending to kill him. However, Gohan saw it coming and was fast enough to jump in the way. Vegeta survived, but the beam ruined the young hero’s arm, and he could no longer use it.

5. Unforgivable

Coming in at number 5, we have Unforgivable! As mentioned in our previous entry, Cell was in a battle against Gohan with the world's fate hanging in the balance. Once the young Saiyan unlocked his Super Saiyan 2 form(or Ascended Saiyan), he was far too much for Cell. At one point, he punched the monster so hard that he spat out Android 18, reverting to his semi-perfect form. At this point, his defeat was all but guaranteed. However, Gohan fell prey to a Saiyan's nature, beginning to gloat and revel in his victory. Of course, the villain took this time to activate an ability that allows him to blow himself up and take the planet with him. With no way to stop him, Gohan falls defeated in anguish over not finishing the monster when he had the chance. Luckily our leading man Goku stepped in and teleported the self-destructing android away, saving everyone.

4.Solar Flare

Coming in at number 4, we have Solar Flare! I know, I know, solar flare near the top of a best attack list. However, hear me out, Cell employed this move more efficiently than any other user in the entire show. The Z-fighters were chasing this monster, his attacks were being broadcast on the news, but no matter what the heroes did, they couldn't catch him. This all came down to the way Cell used the solar flare technique. Anytime the Z-fighters got anywhere near him, he would use it to blind them and getaway. He taunted them, knowing that they couldn't stop him from feasting. This, mixed with androids not able to be sensed, made him uncatchable.

3 See Ya

Coming in at number 3, we have See Ya! This was one of the most vicious assaults performed on Piccolo in the entire Z series. During Piccolo's fight with Android 17, Cell showed his ugly face. The last time the Namekian Z-fighter and the monster android fought, our hero was far too strong for him. Now, after Cell has absorbed thousands of people, his power dwarfed Piccolos. He headed straight for them with his mind on absorbing the Androids, but Piccolo had other ideas. He tried his best to fight Cell, but after throwing a potent light grenade at his opponent, it was clear that he couldn't stop Cell. Before Piccolo could do anything else, Cell jumps forward, hitting our hero in the neck-snapping it. He then picks him up and blasts energy straight through his body. This would have killed our hero if not for Goku.

2 Solar Kamehameha

Coming in at number 2 we have, Solar Kamehameha! This move is the most potent attack that Cell had. After he blew himself up, Cell's body began to regenerate, and due to his Saiyan DNA, he became way stronger than he was before. With all this new power, he flew back down to the planet to face Gohan once again. With this opportunity for revenge, both warriors began to charge up their most powerful beams. Gohan only had one usable arm after saving Vegeta, and Cell was charging up the Solar Kamehameha. Lightning crackled around Cell as he unleashed his attack at Gohan. Their techniques clashed in one of the most brilliant beam struggles in the entire series.

1 Absorption

Coming in number 1 we have, Absorption! This technique is the sole reason Cell was a threat at all. When Cell first appeared, his power level was nothin spectacular. A much more powerful Piccolo even immediately faced him down. However, this is where his most dangerous technique came into play. Cell goes around absorbing every human he can, and with every life he takes this way, he gains a bit of power. The clever villain uses this to gain enough power to take his real prize and use his absorption to its full potential. He absorbs Androids 17 & 18, attaining his perfect form and becoming one of the biggest threats our heroes have faced.
